Halloween Bendi Card - Wicked Collection

Suzanne came out with this fabulous Bendi  Hallowen card available on the Silhouette onLine store and had to make it. BIG GRIN.

The Halloween Wicked stamps I used are from a huge sheet of Halloween stamps. Suzanne only has a couple sets left and then they'll be GONE...

I opened the Silhouette file in Studio and resized it to fit my 11"w black cardstock. Cut the moon from white cardstock.

Edged various elements using either Liquid Pearls "Avocado" on the trees; "Platinum" on the moon; Viva Pearl Pen "Silver Chrome" on the cross and gravestones; gold metallic gel pen on the bird and added red glitter on the eyes.

Stamped the quotes using Distress Picket Fence and embossed with detail white embossing powder.

Folded on the score lines and inserted the tabs into the slots to create the Bendi form.

Un-tab tolay flat to mail - mention some assembly required...

I added a offset to the star.

The innermost star is cotton fabric treated with Terial Magic. 

You cut it on the mat just like paper. It is machine stitched to the offset, just for fun.

The card base is bordered with Deco Arts Metallic Luster- Rose Gold- one of my fav new (to me) products.

Rubbed onto almost any surface you get a gleaming metallic look.

Relax & Smile - Autumn Is A Second

Yogi here today with a fall card using the newest script words available on the Silhouette onLine store and a couple other files.... Loving all the new script words Suzanne is coming out with. They're just gorgeous. BIG GRIN

 I opened the Silhouette files in Sure Cuts A Lot software. I left the "Relax" & "Smile" the size they were, adding a shadow layer at 1.0 larger and a 2nd shadow layer at 2.0 from white cardstock. While still on the mat, painted with acrylic daubers - the top word in "Spiced Marmalade", the 1st shadow layer in "Peeled Paint" and left the 2nd shadow layer white. Removed from mat and inked the top word with Versafine and embossed with Emerald Creek "Thanksgiving" embossing powder. Adhered the 3 layers together.

Cut the ampersand from white cardstock, painted with "Mustard Seed", inked with versamark and embossed with yellow embossing powder. Painted the shadow layer with the peeled paint. Adhered the 2 layers together.

Cut the leaves from white cardstock, sponged with Distress "Mustard Seed" all over than here and there with various other colors ("Fossilized Amber", "Carved Pumpkin", "Lucky Clover", "Forest Moss", "Worn Lipstick"). Scored vein lines on the backside of each leaf, then hit the high points direct to paper with the forest moss.

Side folded my mango toned cardstock.

Cut a piece of translucent vellum and embossed using Crafts Too "Feathers" embossing folder. Trimmed down to 1/8" smaller than my card front. Adhered with ATG tape.

Adhered all my electronic cut pieces, adding a piece of gold/gold Sari ribbon diagonally under the "smile" word.

As a final touch added an amber pearl for the dot on the smile...

On the inside: Stamped the quote using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Colored the leaf with a yellow colored pencil.

Welcome Home Floral Birdhouse Decoration



 

It's Suzanne here today with a cute little gift idea.  I picked up this birdhouse hook at Michaels last time I was there.  For a change, I actually had a plan for it when I bought it!

The digital cutting file is available over at Silhouette today.

Here's how I did it!

1. Open the brand new Silhouette cutting file and reduce the size to 3.5 inches.
2. Place a piece of Teal Matte Vinyl right on the cutting mat and cut it with a blade depth of 2 (do a test cut on your own machine!) and it worked just fine! 
3. Weed out the counterspaces and excess vinyl and apply Premium Transfer Paper over the design and burnish. 
4. Transfer the design to the birdhouse and burnish in place.
5. Create a 3/4 inch circle on a blank file in the Silhouette software and cut from Faux Leather Paper. Shade the circle with a pencil and adhere to birdhouse.
6. Select mulberry flowers and adhere as shown.

Butterfly Tunnel Card - May the Wings - Follow Your Dreams - HB

 Loving this newest file from Suzanne - Butterfly Tunnel Card... This is what the file looks like :

I'm also using a few quote/sentiment stamps  from Quietfire Design: ("Butterfly Circle - May the Wings" 5pce set); ("Follow Your Dreams"); ("Happy Birthday Plain and Simple" 7pce set)

Please note: opening the files in the Silhouette Studio software is best. Opening in other software like SCAL or ECAL etc, may change some of the score/cut lines.

For this card I opened it in Studio software. I used my selection tool to select the whole file and clicked ungroup ONCE. Careful if you click more than once, your score lines may move... Lesson learned.

I moved the various elements off my mat to cut each portion of the card from cream toned cardstock. It takes a minimum of 3 pieces of 8.5 x 11" cardstock. More if you want more butterflies BIG GRIN... The card when closed is 5.25"w x 7"h
I also cut one of the butterflies from thin cardstock to create a stencil/mask which I placed over the butterfly frames to ink only the butterfly using a corresponding color to the embossing powder I would use. Distress "Wild Honey" with Emerald Creek Hot Stuff "Thanksgiving" embossing powder; and "Cracked Pistachio" with "Verdigris" embossing powder. Make sure you clean the areas of excess embossing powder from the body and surrounding areas. After heat setting used a brown Zig marker for the body.
I also cut 2 blackout layer butterflies. Use the Trace feature, select the butterfly, and click on the "Trace Outer Edge" - cut.

I inked them with the opposite pad, glued them to the back of the butterfly, then sprinkled with the embossing powder and heat set.

Inked the birthday stamp using the honey all over and hitting here and there with pistachio, clear embossed, repeated around the whole border. Looks like some of my stamping had a bit too much ink... C'est la vie. - a distressed look ROFL.

Stamped the quote "Follow Your Dreams..." using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Then adhered the edges of each butterfly frame to the edge of the card.

 
PS Finish the front of your card prior to assembling the inside unless you're adhering a separate layer to the front like I did.

I sponged the front edges with the honey and then some "Dried Marigold".

Cut another piece of cream cardstock about 1/4" smaller all around. Stamped the quote and circle with the black and clear embossed, sponged the edges with the honey and marigold. Adhered to card front.

Inked the butterfly with the pistachio and embossed with the verdigris.  Colored the body and adhered to card front by the body only, lifting the wings.

Applied Quickie Glue to the alternate small butterflies at the top of the card and applied glitter Stampendous "Light Copper" and Stickles dry glitter "Eucalyptus"

Final touch added a bunch of beige toned rain drop flowers and some white pearl flowers.

Happy 65 - Sunflowers - How Old Would

Another of my friends is having a 65th birthday and I thought I would use a couple of Suzanne newest digital files "Flourished Happy Birthday" and "Flourished 65" and I paired it up with the "Sunflowers" all of them available on the Silhouette onLine store.
This is what the files look like:

I opened the "Happy Birthday" Silhouette file in Sure Cuts A Lot software . Ungrouped the words and hid the word "Birthday". Opened the "Flourished 65" and moved it into a pleasing arrangement with the Happy., selected all and enlarged it to about 4.75" square. Welded everything and cut from cream toned cardstock. Inked it with Versamark and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder. Also cut a shadow layer and painted it with Distress acrylic dauber "Walnut Stain". Adhered both together.

Opened the "sunflower", adding another flower image, cut from the cream toned cardstock. Painted with the acrylic daubers "Mustard Seed" for the flower, Walnut Stain for the flower center and "Mowed Lawn" for the leaves and stem. assembled the flowers and added glue to the centers adhering some "Nut Brown" Flower Soft .

Side folded my forest green toned Bazzill Monochromatic card. Adhered a piece of dark green/gold variegated ribbon, then my word and flower elements,

On the inside: Stamped the quote ("How Old Would You Be...") using Distress Picket Fence and embossing with Emerald Creek "Glacier White" embossing powder.

Masked the quote and stamped the daisy/sunflower (Stampendous "Jumbo Daisy") using Archival "Saffron" and embossing with a bright yellow embossing powder. Added color using Prisma colored pencils in a yellow and orange. 

Flourished Numbers!



 

This week over on the Silhouette Design Store, I've added some flourished numbers. They're ready to cut and perfect for anniversaries and birthdays!  Here is the full set of numbers which are all available now HERE.

 

 

 

These started with a request from The Fairbank Calligraphy Society in Victoria, BC for number forty designs for the 40th anniversary of their guild.  I had this idea in my head for a couple of weeks.  It finally leaked out onto paper, which then became a video!

 

 

I think these would make perfect additions to your cards and scrapbook pages - and I'm going to have to make a cake-topper some day soon!

Daisy Rosettes - Sunflower

Yogi here today with using one of the newest digital files created by Suzanne "Daisy Rosettes" available on the Silhouette onLine store. Just because it says daisy doesn't mean it has to stay a daisy... Since I painted mine a bright yellow it became a "Sunflower" BIG GRIN

I'm also using the "Sunflower" electronic file for the word.

I side folded my white card (5.5"w x 4.25"h). Embossed it with Elizabeth Craft Designs "Flower Mosaic" embossing folder.

eCut the Daisy Rosettes leaving the same size as the file,and cut from white cardstock, then used a Distress acrylic dauber "Mustard Seed" to color the petals and the larger circle while still on my mat. I just swiped my dauber across the paper without pouncing it. Allowed it to dry for a minute and removed all from mat and folded along the score lines. Adhered the ends together. Applied a good amount of glue to the large painted yellow circle, then pressed the rosette down and held for a minute to allow it to adhered. Placed a flat object on the rosette while it continued to cure.

Colored the smaller circle with a brown marker, applied a bunch of glue and adhered Flower Soft "Nut Brown" all over the circle. Allowed to dry then adhered to sunflower. Adhered flowers to card front.

eCut the "Sunflower" word and also a shadow layer from white cardstock. Painted the top portion with the mustard seed, dried, applied Versamark and embossed with "Yellow" embossing powder.

Painted the shadow layer with Distress "Ground Espresso", dried and adhered both layers together, then on to card front.

 
On the inside: Stamped the top border of butterflies & the bottom lace border (Darice "JCS172" 8pce set) leaving a space for the ribbon, using Distress "Fossilized Amber" and clear embossed.

Adhered the yellow gauze ribbon.

Dry embossed the words (Sizzix "Butterfly Migration" 4 pce set) on white cardstock, trimmed down, used a corner rounder and hit the high points with "Scattered Straw" direct to paper. Sponged around the edges with a yellow sponge. Adhered to inside.

Cut off some yellow petal flowers from a piece of floral ribbon and adhered on either side of words.

It's Summer Fun Rosette Week!

Here is a fun party decoration - or use it as a dimensional scrapbook or card embellishment - or make it into a lapel badge! I've also thrown in some brush lettering for your summer creations!

All these are available for download on the Silhouette Online Store today.

 

Using the Cameo to make these rosettes is a snap.  No measuring or cutting or scoring. Just cut and you're ready to go.  The hardest part will be deciding which papers to use!

I've created a basic rosette with a large scalloped base and paper button accent, a basic scalloped edge rosette, a double rosette, a heart-edge rosette (do this in pastels for a wedding or hold onto the idea till Valentine's Day) and a daisy rosette. 

 

I would have made the daisy in traditional white, but all my designs have to be on a white background for Silhouette, so you would have only seen the center! The petals are not scored all the way to the tips so you can curl the tips to make the flower more interesting. 

General Instructions:

Cut all elements in the colour of your choice. If possible, cut the base circle (the largest circle in the file) out of heavier cardstock. This will keep your rosette from buckling when it’s assembled. It’s important to use strong glues when you make these as the outer edges of the rosettes are under quite a bit of tension.

 



 

Accordion fold the rosette with your fingers and attach the ends together so that you maintain the Mountain-Valley-Mountain folds continuously around the ring. Press the accordion folded ring flat on your work surface. This might take a little practice and patience! Adhere the largest (base) circle to the flattened rosette. It doesn’t have to be perfectly in the middle, just make sure it doesn’t show from the top. Add the top embellishment and you’re good to go!

Feather & Holly Card - Remember die - Christmas Is The Day

Yogi here today with a Christmas card... I LOVE this Feather and Holly Silhouette file from Suzanne.

I'm using one of the NEWEST "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs ("Remember") (also available on Quietfire Design HERE).

I'm also using a quote stamp on the inside from Quietfire Design 

("Christmas is the Day..." 9pce set); eCut ("Feather & Holly card")

Scored and folded my cream toned cardstock.

Place my feather and holly card on my mat. Ungrouped everything and set the card base to the side. Gathered all my feather and holly elements and increased the height of the feather to 6".  eCut everything from white cardstock.

Scored vein lines in the holly leaves and hit them direct to paper with Distress "Crushed Olive" then a bit more lightly with "Mowed Lawn".

Direct to paper with "Antique Linen" on the feather, then scored lines for the feather details. Went over the feather again with "Aged Mahogany" and then with a bit of "Fired Brick".

The berries I inked with "Candied Apple and embossed with UTEE twice. Adhered them to the white under layer. Added dots of Liquid Pearls "White Opal" to the white areas.

Layered two pieces of Ruche cardstock leaving a 1/4" border all around. Adhered a piece of gold ribbon, then adhered my feather & holly elements, then all of that to the card front.

Die cut the word "Remember" (also available from Quietfire Design HERE) from cream toned cardstock, inked with Versamark and embossed with Distress "Antique Linen". Die cut another word from the red Ruche and adhered both together slightly off set, then on to card front.

On the inside: stamped the holly detail (Flourishes "Naturally Merry") inking the stamp with the mowed lawn and the berries with the candied apple, misted with water, stamped and clear embossed.

Stamped the quote with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.
