Making the Sack Purse Tutorial

What a cool little purse!  It's Silhouette Design 293000 - Click Here!
This is a great decoration or gift box.  You can fill it with treats!
Make a whole flock of them all in different colours!
Tie them with coordinating ribbon or cord.

Instructions:

  1. Open up the file and ungroup once. Cut the base and decorative panels separately in your favourite colours.

2.  Adhere the decorative panels on the purse base as shown (and as they came in the original file) above.  This is the only thing you'll have to glue!

3.  Fold all perforated score lines in a mountain/valley fashion, but make sure the folds beside all the decorative panels are both valley.  They're basically recessed.

4.  Run a cord through the holes and gather the top of the purse. Fill the purse!  Gently tighten and close with a bow!

Monogram Playing Card Fonts - Invitation - Party Time

Yogi Here today and I was in a mood to create something with playing cards...

I'm using sentiments and date clear stamp sets from Quietfire Design ("Months & Numbers Collection" 22pce set) and ("Please Join Us Collection" 8pce set) also available from Elizabeth Craft Designs HERE and HERE

And am using a few of Suzanne's electronic files available on Silhouette onLine store. Click images to purchase.

Scored and folded my white cardstock to create my easel structure. Cut a piece of red textured cardstock, same size as card and adhered to front.

Sprayed my Oxides (Squeezed Lemonade, Abandoned Coral and Broken China) onto my craft sheet and then swooshed my cardstock through the wetness. Continued until completely covered. On the 2nd image below, I sprayed the whole cardstock with the Lemonade to mute the colors. Remember Oxides are basically opaque.

Dry embossed the 2nd background  using Tim's "Poker Face" set. Hit the high points with Distress "Black Soot" and clear embossed. Adhered to card front. PS: if you don't have Tim's embossing folders, just use regular playing cards, or print some out onto cardstock.

Opened SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot software). Placed the letter from each font on my mat, grouped and enlarged. Cut from white 110# Staples Cover cardstock. Inked the letters using Versafine Clair "Twilight stamp pad and embossing with Emerald Creek "Onyx Frost" embossing powder. Inked the drop out elements with "Glamorous" and clear embossed. Adhered all to a strip of white cardstock, then onto card front.

Stamped the word "Let's" using Just Rite "Times Roman" alphabet set.

On the Floor: stamped the various sentiments and date using Versafine Clair Twilight and clear embossing. The comma's and "pm" were stamped with the Just Rite alphabet set.

Scored and folded a narrow piece of the red cardstock and partially adhered to floor to act as my stopper.

Assembling the Quietfire Totes!

These totes are just so cute! Some even come with tags! There are lots of designs for lots of occasions and more being added.

It's a perfect for a small hostess gift!

Here are the brief instructions for making the base (see the video tutorial below or on YouTube):
  1. Cut all the elements in the colours of your choice.
  2. Fold all the perforated score lines upward.
  3. Apply strong double-sided adhesive to the tabs. I run a single strip of double sided tape along the tabs.
  4. Form the tote by adhering the side tab first.
  5. Remove the tape’s release paper on one side of the tabs at the base.  Align one point on the base piece with the side seam and work your way around to the other point by pushing the tabs against the base.  I work with one hand inside pushing the tabs into the correct position.
  6. Remove the release paper on the other side and repeat until all the tabs are in place and secure.  Fill your gift tote and give to someone special!
The finished size of most of these is about 4.25" high, 5.25" wide and about 2.25" deep. It could be a bit larger if you angled it on the cutting mat.

Assembling the Quietfire Pop Up Box in a Card

Usually, I'm referring to a Card in a Box, but now I'm so confused.  This is a card in a box in a card!  I've just created a series of these for Easter and Spring and I'm using the Baby Bunny Pop Up Box in a Card to show you how it's made.  You can find all my Pop Up Box in a Cards at Silhouette.

Follow along on the video tutorial for all the details.  The box is constructed just like the Card in a Box, except there is a little extra to assemble: The box is inserted in a card base!  These cards are 5x7" and are all basically assembled the same with with variation in embellishments.

If you are receiving this as an email update, CLICK HERE to view the video on YouTube.
Happy Creating!

Dinosaur Monogram - Wishing You Whimsy - Accordion card

Yogi here today and I wanted to do something with the Periodic Table letters... but then got side tracked with the dinosaur font...  BIG GRIN

Card size is 4.25"h x 5.25"w (card closed) Opens to 31.5"

I'm using sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design ("Wishing You Whimsy..." 4pce set)

And am using an electronic Monogram file (OTF) from Suzanne Cannon available on Silhouette onLine store. Click image to purchase.
https://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/designs/274090?limit=120&sortby=relevance&search=suzanne+cannon+dinasaur+&submitted_search=true&
Opened SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) software and typed the "Badlands" word, one letter at a time. Selected all and enlarged. Cut from white cardstock and while still on the mat colored with colored pencils. Removed from mat and set aside.

Created a large shadow layer for each letter and cut from black cardstock. Adhered both layers together.

Created the accordion fold structure. Cut an 8.5 x 11" mint green and baby blue cardstock in half length wise to make 2 pieces of 4.25" x 11" of each color. Cut the lengths in half to make a bunch of 4.25"h x 5.5"w pieces. Scored and creased each piece at 1/4". Adhered to the back of the next color. Starting with a green, then a blue, then a green etcetera. 6pcs total for this card.

When all assembled ran through my embossing machine using Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder, moving the folder over each time - till the whole card was embossed.

Pic below is the back side:

Adhered my colored letters onto each page section, placing 2 smaller letters on one page and the larger letter as a single on the next page.

Stamped the words onto white cardstock using Versafine Clair "Glamorous" ink pad, and masking between the words on the stamp. Cut around each word section and hit the edge direct to paper with Distress "Faded Jeans". Adhered to each page.

Final touch, added a bead of Viva Iridescent Glitter down the center of each letter. Sorry hard to see that detail...

This would make such a cute card for a little boy  (or girl...) who like dinosaurs or things prehistoric. BIG GRIN.
