Assembling the Folk Art Treat Dishes

Here is the cutest little set of folk art treat dishes!

These little easy-to-make boxes/dishes don’t just have to be for food treats!  They make great little decorations around the house or at a place setting.

Many of them have Print & Cut sentiments.  You can use those, or add your own on the panel.

You can find these boxes at my Silhouette Store!

Fill these boxes with treats or decorations or flameless votives!

Here is a little video tutorial to help you construct the box part.  If you are receiving this as an email update, click here: https://youtu.be/uAPyJFuxifg

Assembling the Quietfire Upright Gift Boxes

Meet the new Upright Gift Boxes!  These are all Christmas/Winter themed, but I think you'll see this type of box again!

They're really very easy to cut and assemble.  You can find them on my Silhouette page - just filter my profile using the word "upright".

Here is how you assemble them.

Cut the file in any colour you wish.  Busy patterned papers might be too busy for this box!

Fold along all the long perforated score lines.

The sides folds of the box require a little extra love. They form a "pleat".  Use a ball stylus and ruler to help crease those lines, especially the one that is horizontal when the box is upright.

Don't forget the score lines on the tab.  Those will need to bend, too.

Add adhesive to the side tab and form the box.

Close the bottom of the box.  You may with to add adhesive to this tab, too.

Pinch the side pleats gently, fold the top over and insert the tab into the slot.

Add the included bow on the front or make your own ribbon bow. Fill with a gift or some chocolates, or......?

Happy creating, Suzanne

P.S. You can find them on my Silhouette page - just filter my profile using the word "upright".

Making the Quietfire Fun Flowers

Meet the Quietfire Fun flowers! These flowers are so pretty and simple - they aren't supposed to look like any real flower, but they're fun and so cheery to add to a gift or just have on a table or window ledge.

The Fun Flowers are available on my Silhouette site here: http://bit.ly/2oAR9e6 (if you make a purchase by using this link, I *might* get a small commission!)

You make them by rolling the petal strip. Watch this short video for the details.  Happy creating!

Assembling the 3D Oval Hanging Ornaments

Forest Deer 3D Oval Hanging Ornament

These ornaments are really easy to cut and assemble and just a little bit different with a scene or character on a little platform to give it dimension! There is a series of them, so check for the others for more cuteness.  Here is how you make your own.

Ungroup all the elements and separate out the different colours.  Cut all the elements (there aren't many in most of these ornaments!

Fold the tabs in opposite directions.

Fold the standing elements back to back and apply a small Glue Dot at the top to hold them together.  Some designs (like Santa) require layering of elements on the free standing elements.

Create the platform by perfectly layering the two discs, with the "snowy" white one on top.  This helps make it a little more sturdy.

Use Glue Dots on the bottom of the standing elements to attach them to the platform.

Apply Glue Dots to the tabs on the ornament base and place the platform on them by aligning the trees with the sides of the ornament base as shown below.

Assembling the Advent Date Calendars - Tutorial

What a fun way to count the days to Christmas!  Print and Cut the number cards and change them daily during the Christmas countdown.  You can find them on my Silhouette shop - filter for "Advent" to find them more easily!

Use the print and cut feature to print the numbers.  There are 2 numbers on each card.  Print and cut the December label at the same time.

Separate the elements before you cut them as they are stacked on top of each other to help you with placement.

Fold the base in a zigzag and adhere the flaps for the pocket behind the front of the card.  Fold the solid back up to cover the cut out and glue in place.

Add the extra elements and put the calendar numbers in the pocket for a fun way to track the days to Christmas!

 Merry Christmas!
