Assembling the Explosion Box

There are a number of fun Quietfire Explosion Boxes!  Here is how you assemble the Batty Halloween Explosion Box, but it's the same for all of them, with some slight variations.

Cut all the elements in your choice of colours.
Here is the box base and some of the cards.  Keep any small pieces that drop out when cutting!  You can often use them later!

If there is a pocket layer, fold along all perforated score lines and create the pockets with thin strips of adhesive.  Add the cards in the pockets - write little messages on them!

Adhere the pockets layer to the base of the box. Apply adhesive only to the bottom/base of the pockets, not the sides.

Fold the stand up figures along all score lines.  Adhere the corners of the square together by overlapping the base edge.  Close the "ring" and adhere to the inside base of the box.

Fold up the tree (or other free standing element) and adhere back to back with a Glue Dot.

Adhere free standing element to the base of the box, or in this case the black panel.

Adhere this in the middle of the base.

Assemble the lid by folding along the perforated score lines and adhering the tabs.  Decorate as shown in sample photo.

Enjoy!

Sunflower Pillow Gift Box

Hello, everyone!

It's Nancy here with you today...sharing a fun new Fall project.
Today I'm featuring the fabulous new Sunflower Pillow Gift Box digital file.
You can find it in the Silhouette Design Store HERE.

Here's my finished box:

Here's what it looks like cut out:

That's all there is to it!
They're so quick and easy to put together!
I inked around the edges of all the pieces before assembling.
Then it was just a matter of doing a little layering and gluing..
I think a whole basket of them would make a lovely presentation.

I always like to add ribbon to my projects where I can,
so I added a ribbon to the box before adhering the sunflower in place.
Then the ribbon just wraps around to the back and ties in a bow.

I think these little Sunflower Pillow Gift Boxes would look beautiful on a Thanksgiving table.
One at each place setting, filled with a treat, would be a lovely treasure for everyone to take home.
You could even add names to the box and use them as place cards.

Chalkboard Easel Cards

Hello Connie Nichol here today with a couple of super simple cards featuring Suzanne Cannon's chalkboard easel cutting file available in the Silhouette store here.  The easel design is a great base for so many different cards - you can use chalk paper and write a message with chalk or a chalk marker, add a stamped sentiment or as I did in my projects, add a die cut word.

I gilded my die cuts with the brand new Quietfire Design gilding powder.  This is an ultra fine embossing powder that comes in six delicious shades.  I dabbed embossing ink on my die cut word, coated with Kells Gold gilding powder and heated with my embossing heat gun. Simple, yet magical to turn white cardstock into a beautiful metallic gold.

For the background of the Hola card, I experimented with gilding droplets of gel medium.  I used a stiff brush, dipped it into the gel medium and flicked it with my finger onto the card background, then coated it with the gilding powder.  Tap off the extra and then heat emboss.  It turned out kind of neat because of the dimension of the gel medium.  You can try this with anything that will make the embossing powder stick so that it can be heat embossed.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Bébé/ Baby Stroller Card

Hello crafty friends!

Kora here again with another fun project: a baby stroller card I made for the newest addition to our family - little baby girl Sophie. I combined the digital file: bébé / baby stroller card with some dies.

First of all, I cut all the different elements using heavy cardstock (violet, pink and light yellow).

After putting them all together I added some rhinestones and a few hearts I cut with the

Hearts & Pawprints Sprays - 2 Metal Cutting Dies

The baby stroller put together and decorated with some rhinestones.

For the inside of the card I decided on stars using these two dies:
Flourished Night Sky - Metal Cutting Dies

Butterflies & Stars Sprays - Metal Cutting Dies

And -of course- I again added some rhinestones.

Happy crafting! Thanks for stopping by!
