Lanterns-Kindness, Gratitude, Patience, Breathe

Hi y'all!
Robyn here, shining a little light!
Did you ever have to make up your mind?
With 1000's of Suzanne's files to choose from, with instant download it can be a challenge!
I made it easy on myself and chose them all and combined into one.

Illuminated

This Lantern combines all  I love about digital files.
Once I DL them I can do whatever I want.
Ungroup and regroup and every project is uniquely yours with the
Quietfire Design style.

Another choice is perorated or score.
The models shown here show the perfs so you see what you are getting with the file.
They can be ungrouped and removed if you prefer the scored look.

Assembling the Pocket Advent Calendars - Tutorial

These pockets Advent calendars are fun to make and even more fun to share! You can find these designs on my Silhouette store. (When you get to my page, filter for Advent to find them more easily.) They're pretty basic, take a bit of time to make, but can be a lasting keepsake for years to come! You can fill it with all sorts of things.  Customize the colours and gifts for the lucky person or pet celebrating the season.

Each file comes with the pleated pockets, the print and cut numbers and the title with mat.

Print and cut all the numbers (sticker paper can be helpful!) and mount them on the slightly larger solid circles. I printed them on sticker paper so it was faster to assemble the project!  The paw print labels don't have a larger mat, they are just attached directly to the pocket.

Cut and fold each pocket in your favourite colour.  The pockets have pleats in them so they can expand. Fold down the top tab and add the numbers there.

Add your preferred adhesive to the tabs.  You probably want something pretty strong!

You can attach the pockets to a 12 x 12 piece of scrapbook paper or cardstock.  For the Paw Print design, I attached them randomly, which makes it fun!  But if you like organization, I've done an approximate layout for the pockets in rows and columns.

A t-square and a soapstone pencil (which can be easily brushed off later) are handy tools for this!

You might choose to leave less room between the rows.  It depends on what you plan to put in them!!

Cut and print the titles and mount them on their mats, then have fun filling your Advent pockets!  (Think small!)

Looking for little gifts to put in the pockets?  Google is your friend!
Here are a few ideas....
festive nuts
keychains
decorative wearable pins
kitchen magnets
hair accessories
tester perfume
sprig of mistletoe
novelty erasers
beads
plastic toys
candy canes
....
feathers
balls
yarn

I'd love to see what you put in your Advent Pockets Calendar!  Please come and share it on the Suzanne Cannon Fan Page on Facebook!  (Don't forget to answer the simple questions so we know you're not a robot!)

Happy creating - and Merry Christmas!

Birds and Animals Dingbat Font- Love Lives here

Hi y'all!
Robyn here with an easy watercolor ATC for everyone who says,
"I can't draw."
Living in the Beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, bears are a way of life , and one of the reasons we love living here.
Suzanne's Birds and Animals Dingbat Font
sketches out for you the outline of the bear,
and the rest is just looking at the mountains and letting the paint do what it will!

You don't even need a digital cutter. You can load the Fonts into your word processor.

On the mat

The bears are the letters J and K.

Be sure your paint is completely dry before stamping with Versafine Black ink and clear embossing.

***TIP***
Put some embossing powder on the paper and see if it sticks.
If it does, the paint is still too wet.

Personalize a Card with Monogram Fonts

Although Monogram Fonts aren’t designed for creating text, they can be really fun to personalize a card! Many of my monogram fonts start with my basic Italic Capitals which I use for teaching calligraphy and this technique works especially well if the basic letterforms are the same in different fonts. It helps make the fonts interchangeable and easy to read when you mix and match them.
Here is how you can make an awesome card or nameplate!  If you are receiving this as an email update, click here to watch the video on YouTube.

Thanks for watching!  What will you do with your monogram fonts?!

Reindeer Flourish Home Decor

You'll be so pleased how quickly and easily you can make this project!  It's a new digital cutting file on the Silhouette Online Store this week. If you use other cutting machines, you can purchase the file there as an svg file!  Yay!

Reindeer with Flourish
I tried this with gold vinyl first, but the vinyl really didn't want to stick to the rough surface.  So I cut it from gold cardstock.  This is all done in less than five minutes.  All you have to do is add a few Christmas embellishments!

Supplies:
Reindeer with Flourish Silhouette ID 235411 (also available as an svg file)
Silhouette Cameo
Bazzill Gold Foil Cardstock
Jillybean Soup 6x6" wood plank

Don't forget to use the code in the sidebar to receive 10% off on the Silhouette site.

Merry Christmas Wreath Home Decor

Here's a pretty quick and easy project.  You just need a few colours of vinyl and a 12 x 12" board and you're away to the races!  (The reindeer races, of course!)

You just need two cutting files to create this project, The Merry Christmas Wreath and the Flourished Christmas Tree Card. You can now purchase my designs on the Silhouette Online Design Store in svg format, so they can be used on other machines.  Yay!

The Merry Christmas Wreath was cut at actual size, straight from the cutting file. You need 12" wide vinyl for this.  (Note to self - don't buy 9" vinyl, just in case!)

Open the file and ungroup once and move the holly and berries to the side.  I adhere the vinyl on my cutting mat - don't remove the backing!  Tell the machine to cut matte vinyl and it tells you to set the blade depth to 1 and away you go!

I did all the weeding with the vinyl still on the mat.  This took a while, as there are some pretty delicate strokes. It always amazes me that the vinyl can hold those delicate lines! Once the weeding is completed, cut a piece of transfer tape big enough to cover the image and remove its release paper.  Lay it, sticky side down on the Merry Christmas Wreath and burnish lightly.  Pull the Transfer Tape up with the Merry Christmas Wreath stuck on it and position it on the wooden board. Burnish the vinyl onto the wood surface and carefully roll off the Transfer Tape.  This can be tricky if the vinyl wants to stick to the Transfer Tape!  Patience wins and the product is awesome!

Go back to the machine and cut the holly and berries and transfer them to the Merry Christmas Wreath on the wood.

When you open the Flourished Tree, you'll see it's a card.  No problem!

Right click on the file and choose Ungroup.  Click off the images and then grab and delete the perforated score line.  Now right click on the image again and choose Release Compound Path, then delete the card outline.  Group all the tree elements or you might end up with a dog's breakfast..... I rotated the tree and placed it in the corner of the mat then resized the tree to about 4.75 inches tall.

Cut out the tree and weed out the excess vinyl.  Use Transfer Tape to place the tree in the middle of the Merry Christmas Wreath. Burnish the vinyl to the surface.

Um, I was scrolling down to write some more direction and suddenly realized, that's it!  It's done!  Now it's your turn! You'll be able to keep this for years - or give it away to a friend.  It's not an expensive project, that's for sure!  Happy creating!
