Holiday Star Basket/ New Modern Gilding Powders / Kindness is like snow

Hi Y'all!
Robyn here
with a quick and easy 3D project for the holidays
or any holiday you can dream up!
Is it an ornament? candy basket? elegant table place setting?
Create without limits!

On the Mat

Assembly is just chose your papers, cut and paste.
The long  scored strip is the side of the box, fold and mess about with it before you add your adhesive to be sure how it fits.

I used Tombow  Mono Multi as it fast drying  with a strong hold, tiny tip, and still gives you a little time for wiggling about.

Modern Gilding Powder alchemy gave me a range and subtlety of vintage patina.
(note dots of Copper Scroll on the side panels)
The back Layer is straight Copper Scroll.
The next layer is 2 part Acanthus Teal to 1 part Kells Gold.
Measure the powders into a small clean jars and shake well.
The Flourish snow flake was stamped in Versafine spanish moss and
Gilded with Burnished Silver.
That layer was lightly edged with a VersaMark cube and Copper Scroll, then brushed with
Distress iced spruce and Delicata Silver.
Any spaces can be filled with the Zig embossing pens, and gilded.
I love how the ink pooled by the gilding.
The handle is gilded with Copper Scroll.

The stamp is found in the new Quietfire Design Holiday release
Kindness is like snow

The gilding powers can be used to create this texture or heated a bit more to give  a smooth and lustrous look.
We would love to see your experiments and creation with stamps, files and gilding powders.
on Facebook to inspire and be inspired.

Today You Will Rule The World - Coffee

Hello Quietfire Design digi-fans!  Betsy here on the blog today bringing you my first ever digital cut file project!  WOW!  I was amazed at how easy it was.

This is the SVG file that I used:

I have a Brother Scan N Cut so the program I was using for my project was CanvasWorkspace.
I simply started a new project, clicked on the SVG icon and browsed for my file, which in this case is: Today You Will Rule The World - Coffee.  I clicked ok and this is what I saw on my screen:

I went through the prompts and over to my Scan N Cut and the machine cut it out.  I used a glitter paper.  I found there was some layer separating with this paper, but on the whole it cut out fine.

In order to take my letters off the cutting mat and adhere them to my card, I needed to have a circle guide for my letters.  I measured the inside space of the letters and it was 3 1/4".  I used a round cutting die of that size and cut a piece of masking paper.   I centered the mask onto my background paper and adhered my letters around it.
Then, using a ruler as a guide, I adhered my "coffee" in the center.

My background paper is 5 1/2" square, my card base is 6" x 6" in a light aqua blue.  The paper pack that I was using had a piece of paper with the coffee cups on it.  I simply cut one of the cups out, adhered it a piece of white card stock and popped it up on foam tape to the card.  Then I added some espresso colored gems.  And that finished my card!

Kitty with Moon

Boooo!
Hello, my friends!

Halloween is approaching rapidly and I was in need of some decoration. The Kitty with Moon is an easy and fast project and looks good in a window or, as in my case, on the front door.

Open the file "Kitty with Moon" and ungroup the elements.

Once you have cut the elements you can put them all together.

I love the fine details of the cat and the bats.

When all is done you simply have to decide where to put your decoration. I thought it would look good in a window, but my son wanted to put it on the front door - so that´s where it is now.

Happy Halloween!

Maple Tree - Four Seasons

Hello, crafting friends!

Fall has arrived. The leaves are turning red and yellow. I love this time of the year when every tree and every leaf is bright and colorful. The Maple Tree digital cutting file fits just perfectly for the season. The file can be adapted to any season though, as you also get snowflakes.

Once you have cut all the elements it´s time to assemble them. Make sure you cut many leaves, you will need a lot to cover the whole tree.

I love the extra elements that come with the file (swing and bird).

I added some butterflies using the QFD Butterflies and Stars Sprays Metal Cutting Dies.

Cut the butterflies, take the "negative" and put it onto the card.

Then take the cut butterflies and put them back into the negative (use glue).

When finished you can take the negative off. The butterfly spray now sticks to the card. Add rhinestones if wanted.

Have a happy and COLOURFUL fall!
