Fairie Focus: create a sweet Garden Fairy tag!

Hello Crafty Friends!

It may be January but I am thinking of spring, flowers and gardens.  Of course, every gardener knows that fairies help make every garden more beautiful.  Today I am celebrating  garden fairies with a sweet tag created using the Garden Fairy Tag digital cutting file.

Tag instructions:

  1. Use large tag cutting image to cut purple card stock.
  2. Cut and mat purple patterned paper.
  3. Cut green patterned paper the same width as step 2.  Use scissors to create a swooping ground.
  4. Apply Distress Ink along edges of 1, 2, 3.  Use double sided adhesive to mount to tag front.
  5. Cut stem from green card stock.  Cut fairy from light purple card stock.  Apply Distress ink along edges.
  6. Mount stem using liquid adhesive.  Mount fairy using double sided tape.
  7. Cut lilies of the valley bells from white card stock.  Mount using double sided adhesive tape.  Apply Stickles or glitter to bells.  (optional)
  8. Add desired ribbon to tag hole.
  9. For the final step you can either cut the remaining green stem and leaves from the digital cutting file or add another embellishment.  (I just happened to have a fairie tag on hand and added it to the tag front.)
Thank you for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the fun fairy tag!
Have a happy, crafty day.

Creepy Halloween Tag Treat Box!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Halloween is next week...do you want to make some cute treat boxes for the ghouls, witches and pumpkins on your treat list?  Well, you have come to the right spot!  This sweet tag treat box is perfect for...err...sweets.  :)

I used the Halloween Tag Treat Box (design ID 149603) to cut orange, black and purple card stock.  (As an FYI, there is also a moon that part of the set but I wanted to make the front creepy with irregular gold stars.  That's right, I pulled out glitter for this project!  A girl needs her glitter.)

You can create the box using just one color for the base but I decided to mix and match.
And I did an offset cut for purple to create a layer on the front.  The tree and bats have metallic glitter (Stickles Gunsmoke) for more fun and extra creepy highlights.
Isn't the tree cool?  The limb shapes are so eerie!

Thanks for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed this fun to make Halloween Tag Treat Box.
Have a creepy, crafty day!
Eeekkk!

"Without music..." Treble Clef card

Hello Crafty Friends!

Kathy Jo here doing my first post on Quietfire Digital.  Let me start with some honesty as a newbie to the digital cutting world: I was apprehensive.  I love die cutting and I was not sure if I would like digital cutting.  Would my creations look "flat"?  Would projects look elementary?  But mostly, would I be able to learn how to use my machine?  Well, my reservations were for naught.  It is quite enjoyable, adaptable (I can re-size files to fit my project!), easy to learn, easy to purchase new files and it is inexpensive to buy new files.  The digital cutting results are wonderful. Why didn't I pursue this sooner?!

My project is a combination of the lovely Treble Clef Blank Card digital file and the beautiful Without Music stamp.
Card Instructions:
(Mind you, I created this card as a newbie so I probably did some steps that could have been completed by the machine and not by me.  However inefficient I may have been in the creation of the card, I think the final card results are very pretty...and I enjoyed making it!)

  1. Cut Treble Clef card using black card stock.  Cut front to desired size.  Round corners.  Apply gold marker along edges.
  2. Create top fold card using black card stock.  Round corners.
  3. Cut and mat patterned paper to card base.
  4. Mount black clef background (from Step 1) to card front.
  5. Use black archival ink to stamp quote onto patterned paper.  Cut to size and round corners.  Apply gold marker to edges.  Mount to card front using double side foam tape.
  6. Optional:  Apply Nuvo Crystal Drops (or similar) to flower centers.
  7. Decorate inside of card as desired.
Isn't it just gorgeous?  The Treble Clef Blank Card digital file and the Without Music stamp are a perfect combination!

You know what?  I am totally digging digital cutting.  :)

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day!
