Here are my projects. I made two baby cards using the Quietfire Baby Doily Card electronic cutting file and the Elizabeth Craft Designs Baby Love dies. This is a quick and easy card to cut and give. Just ungroup the elements in the digital file, spread them apart and cut in coordinating colours. I went with a traditional blue and pink, and added a teeny tiny little pink glitter heart to the front of the onesie.
Here's the component parts......
I added some hand stitching with DMC embroidery thread to the pink card. In hindsight I think I would have used a contrasting or darker colour of thread to increase its visibility but I love the texture a litle hand stitching adds to a project.
Here's the Baby Love die set. Isn't it cute? Use the words separately or together.

I don't know anything about digital files, but your cards are super cute. I love the hand stitching. I think your pink shows up great. And that touch of pink glitter on the blue card is outstanding.
ReplyDeletethanks Tammy <3
DeleteThe doily is very pretty. I have never used digital files but it looks very interesting. And as a cross-stitcher, I love adding stitches to cards. 😊
ReplyDeletethanks Divya. I'm also a cross stitcher. There will be a whole article on using cross stitch supplies in the upcoming winter issue of Creative Scrapbooker magazine. So fun
Deletesimple but has great effects
ReplyDeleteDarling baby boy and baby girl cards! Adding the stitching to the baby girl card is just so precious!

ReplyDeleteI really like these two cards. The stitching on the pink card is very nice. I haven't tried digital. Do you need a special machine?
ReplyDeleteyes Evelyn, digital cut files are cut with an electronic die cutting machine. I use a Silhouette Cameo but there are a few other types out there. Basically it's like a printer with a blade, you can cut designs in any size in different materials like paper or vinyl.
DeleteI cannot use the digital files myself but can't help but admire your card :) So cute.
ReplyDeleteI like how you created your own doily with the heart dies. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI don’t have an electronic cutter but your card is inspiring. The handstitching adds such a personal touch.
ReplyDeleteLovely card - simple and elegant
ReplyDeleteThe pink card with the thread is my fave, but both cards are seriously gorjuss! Very cute cards!

Not a digital crafter, but I love these cards and I especially love the little hearts and the Baby and Love die cuts. They work so perfectly here. Thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute cards. I like the use of the thread for color and texture. I also like the combo of die cuts with the digital which encourages people to cross over to another way to create cards.
