Christmas Shadow Box Ornaments

 It's Christmas in July, right?

Check out these cute multilayered ornaments.  They're quick to make!

Hang this decoration up wherever it fits!  Go ahead and personalize it.  There is lots of room for your greeting on the back of this multilayered ornament. You can assemble it flat, or use foam adhesive to create dimension.

You can personalize these by writing around the outside frame, too!

INSTRUCTIONS: (or see the video short below or on YouTube for general instructions)

  1. Cut all the elements in the colours of your choice.
  2. Lay out each of the layers with their elements (such as the penguin's pieces - beak, eyes, hat, fish, bow and black outline - with the white penguin body layer).  Adhere those pieces as shown in the thumbnail before assembling the ornament.
  3. Test assemble the ornament, so you know which layer goes where.
  4. Use glue, glue dots or tape runner to build the ornament by carefully adding the layers. OR if you want a dimensional "shadow box" ornament, cut small pieces of foam adhesive to add between the layers.  I like to add adhesive at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock, but you can add more!

  5. Add string or a ribbon through the loop at the top!
  6. Give to someone special!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on my website.

You can find this file on my Silhouette store HERE.

If you are receiving this as an email update, you can view the tutorial on my YouTube Channel HERE.

Make the Follow Your Dreams Lantern

Follow Your Dreams are words of encouragement for anyone, but especially appropriate for graduation!

Follow this short video tutorial below to see how it's made.  If you need more detail about assembling the Quietfire Lanterns, pop on over to this post https://quietfiredigital.blogspot.com/2019/01/making-quietfire-lantern-tutorial.html

Just a little warning...  There are a lot of intricate cuts in this lantern so handle it carefully when removing it from the mat and if you need to weed out any negative spaces!

This project is available as an access file at Cricut: https://design-beta.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/664f8709796362b894626d89

You will soon be able to access this digital cutting file at my Silhouette Store HERE.

Mix It Up With the Easy Flowers & Leaves and Stems Dingbat Fonts! Print & Cut Bouquet

Oh my gosh!  There are so many possibilities with these two dingbat fonts!  Have a look at these!!

You can use just one font, but combining the two font takes your projects to a whole new level!  Each font gives you 26 designs which you can mix and match to your hearts content. Change the colours, change the sizes and wow!  This is just so much fun!  Make your design simple or more detailed.  It's up to you.

You can find the QFD Easy Flowers Dingbat Font and the QFD Easy Leaves and Stems Dingbat Font on my Silhouette profile HERE. Just filter on my profile for "dingbat" if you're having trouble finding them.

Just to make life easier for us (and we all like easy!) I've created a printable pdf for you to download and print. It shows you which letters of the alphabet correspond with a specific design. (just like the images at the top of this blog post)

Want to see how to create the little bouquet above?  I've created this tutorial that has lots of tips if you've never done this before.

If you're receiving this as an email update, click HERE to go to the Quietfire Design YouTube Channel and view the tutorial.
