Snowflake Butterfly Scrapbook Layout

Hello, Connie Nichol here today  with a project featuring two Quietfire Design digital cutting files -  'Snowflake Butterfly' and 'Let it Snow'.  These files are available in the Silhouette store here

connie_nichol, quietfire design

The snowflake butterfly cut file is so gorgeous.  I debated whether to cut several small butterflies to use as page embellishments, but in the end, went whole hog and cut out a butterfly to cover most of the page.
It started out white, as did the 'Let it Snow' title, but that looked too stark, so I added some pinks and mauves with watercolour paint.  I used lots of water and just dabbed randomly to get a variegated look.

Part of the original white butterfly wing

and the water colour paint that I used.  Just wet a brush with plenty of water and a few different colours of paint to customize your die cuts.  Let dry and then add a photo and a few embellishments, but with electronic cutting files as pretty as the snowflake butterfly, let it be the main feature on the page instead of adding too much other stuff.  Happy Scrapbooking!

Supplies:  Close to my Heart cardstock and water colour paints, Martha Stewart border punch, PinkFresh Studio stickers, Imagine Crafts white pico embellisher, Silhouette Cameo.

Merry Christmas Sneaker

Say Merry Christmas to the fit people in your life!
I created this sneaker in red and green for the season, but I'm kicking myself that I didn't add some little bells to the laces. You try it!

I've used my Sneaker design on the Silhouette Design Store and my AWWW Merry Christmas craft die.

Sneaker
This card was for Sarah Seads, my trainer.  I was going to make her a really pretty card.  Then I got real.

Merry Christmas and have an active New Year!

Flourished Snowflake Cards

Hi there!  It’s Suzanne today with a series of Christmas cards using one of my digital cutting files (Flourished Snowflake) and silver vinyl. The part of these cards that takes the most time is weeding out the excess vinyl, but the product is awesome! To create some variety (really, just for my own amusement!) I switched the colours of the layers, but always kept the silver cardstock as the same layer.
Designer Tip:  You could easily make the snowflakes smaller as the vinyl would hold the fine lines.

Here is how you make these cards.
Supplies:
Flourished Snowflake  Silhouette Design Store #164059
SilhouetteAdhesive Vinyl in Silver
SihouetteTransfer Tape
Silhouette Cameo
Bazzill Cardstock in Navajo and Turquoise Mist
Bazzill Foil Cardstock in Silver
TombowMono Dots Adhesive
Tombow3D Foam Tabs

 Instructions:

1.       Form a 6 x 6” tent fold card base from Navajo cardstock.

2.       Cut a 4.5” square panel of coordinating cardstock.  Cut a 1/8” larger mat for this panel from silver foil cardstock and adhere together.

3.       Cut Flourished Snowflake from silver vinyl (blade depth 1) and weed all the negative spaces out. Since the vinyl is 9" wide, I duplicated the image and fit 7 snowflakes in a 12" long strip.

4.       Use Transfer Paper to place the snowflake in the middle of the smallest panel and burnish into place. (You can reuse the transfer paper many times.) Adhere this panel to the card front with foam adhesive.

I hope this gives you some ideas for creating your own snowflake cards!
Happy cutting! Suzanne

ATC Gift Tags-ho ho ho, twinkle & sparkle, joy, merry christmas, peace on earth, merry & bright

Hi Y'all Robyn here showcasing the versatility of Suzanne's digital files.
Finished ATC gift tags.
Have you spoken to Santa about a digital cutter under the tree?

These designed are sketched with pens, rather than cut.
 Raw materials!
On the mat the files are various sizes
To create ATCs, choose the rectangle function and draw a box 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" and  resize the file to fit.
Note the size change in merry and bright.
To sketch, go to the cut window and select just the word to cut, no cut on the outline of the card.

Scribble a bit with the pen, these are Sakura Stardust, and insert the pen into your pen holder.
Place a popsicle stick under the pen to get the correct placement of the tip.
Be sure to do a test "cut" to make sure the pen is sketching correctly.
Using 80lb Neenah Classic Crest use Speed 5, Pressure 33.

DO NOT move the mat when it finishes sketching.

Replace the pen holder with your blade.
I use the CB 09 holders and blades, 65 for these fine cuts.
Go back to the cut window- select no cut for the words, and cut for the outline.

Some cards are  thermal embossed with clear embossing powder.
You have time!

If you want to do less coloring, fill the letters with internal offsets.

Now embellish to your hearts content!

Stamp is from the vast selection of QF snowflakes!
Embossing powder is Ranger Christmas tree!
 Joy works both ways!

The plan was to add , To: From: to the top of this card and I can't find the stamp!

plain and simple
My christmas wish ( hold the flakes!)

These are quick and easy. Please give them a try!

O Holy Night - Free Standing Nativity

Hi everyone!  It's Suzanne here today with this week's new cutting files over at the Silhouette America Design Store.  This is the whole set.  So far.  Do you think I need more figures?

We can't have more than 2 items in a single design file, so you will find these as five separate files. These figures stand on their own, so you can move them around and play with them.  Cut a whole flock of sheep if you think your arrangement needs them!

These were all cut with the Silhouette Cameo from American Craft Smooth Cardstock in Coffee colour.

Manger and Stable

Joseph and Mary

Shepherd and Lamb

Wise Men

Donkey and Camel

Designer Tip: Sometimes a little Glue Dot on the bottom of the base works wonders for those stubborn figures that want to fall over.  I'm talking to you, Donkey!

Happy cutting and a very Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!

Peace On Earth - May You Have - Easel

Yogi here today with an easel card using one of the newest digital cutting files from Suzanne as a focal point. These words just begged to be made big...
This is what the file looks like available on the Silhouette onLine store
https://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/view-shape/165427

I'm also using a quote from Quietfire Design "May You Have The Gladness..."

Scored, and folded my golden toned beige cardstock to create the easel (6"w x 6"h). Cut another piece the same size as my card and adhered to front.

Electronically cut the "Peace on Earth" using SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot software) and my Silhouette machine, sizing it to 5.8"h from white cardstock and while still on my mat, painted with Distress Dabbers "Tarnished Brass" acrylic paint. Removed from mat. Cut a shadow layer and painted that with "Black Soot", Adhered both layers together. Inked with Versamark and clear embossed then adhered it to my amethyst toned ribbed foil cardstock. Trimmed down and adhered to front. Added a multi loop Sari ribbon bow.

On the Floor: Used my Misti to stamp the poinsettia (Penny Black "Scarlet Majesty") on HP watercolor paper using Distress pads ("Victorian Velvet" all over the flowers; "Dusty Concord" at the base and on berries; "Shabby Shutters" on the leaves; "Forest Moss" on stems and accents; "Mustard Seed" on the center), misted with water and stamped. Misted with more water and stamped again. Moved around some areas with a wet paint brush. Dried. Trimmed down. Stamped the quote using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Sponged some purple around the edges. Added white pencil mark detail on the berries and Perfect Pearls "Butterscotch" dots to the center. Adhered to a piece of cardstock then on to floor using 3D foam tape to act as my stopper.

As a final touch, added the mini square amethyst rhinestones to the corners.

Holiday Snack Signs!

Santa Snacks Here Sign - Silhouette Design Store
A sign of the holidays?  Yes!  And holiday signs, too.
It's Suzanne here and I was working on some digital cutting designs last night (yes, this is what I do on Friday nights!) and uncovered these projects that I designed a couple of years ago.  Sometimes I just crack myself up!  I better take a set of these to our kidlets when we visit at Christmas.  It's important the reindeer know where to get their goodies.  They have to keep up their strength.

To make these, all you have to do is pop a piece of cardstock on the cutting mat and away you go!  You'll be all ready for Christmas Eve.

The Silhouette Sale is on now till December 5, 2016.  All designs are half price!  Yay!

So what do you leave out for the big fellow and his assistants?
